I am new to the Hayward area/Castro Valley California, so does anyone on here suggest or know where I can go with a 1997 4.6L Ford F-150? What is happening is the engine makes a ticking noise that goes with the RPM's, but at idle there is a ticking noise, and a low-knocking noise. Once the accelerator is depressed, the knocking stops but the ticking continues with the RPM's. So if anyone knows a good (honest) mechanic in the Hayward or Castro Valley (maybe even Oakland) area I would greatly appreciate it! This truck has been well maintained so I am kind of upset that something major might be going bad, thanks again for any responses.
