Did the Lincoln fan come with the shroud? Again that looks really good.
I used the FK35 controller, I talked to Brian at DC controls and he said it would be quite adequate for that fan... I just towed in 105 degree temp with a 6000lb trailer and it did a great job. Water temp never went over 195degrees and tranny temp never higher than 190 degrees. So far everything is great, the wiring is very complete with the controller and of very good quality....no undersize or cheap connectors.
Look closely at my pictures, I made some very simple brackets to attach the square shroud to my truck. none through the radiator... all external to the fins...

Good work my friend! I will be laying down a flag stone patio this weekend so next weekend its off to the parts yard for me! I can't wait. I will go with the FK35. Nice work on that fan man, sharp thinking on the brackets. The last thing I want to do I put ANYTHING through my radiator fins.....

total cost $167
Look at my efans under my photos....
I too went with a mark viii fan from the boneyard,50.00$ and the delta current control fk35 controller 125.00$,A very smooth set-up and very easy to wire! And i also like the it makes that cool whining noise when the fan is winding down after you turn the truck off!

no Mark fans here locally, I will have to expand my search to the oakanagan valley, I remember seeing a few scrap yards on the way out to Kelowna.

I think this is a great idea and I'm going to try and move forward on it as soon as I find a fan.

Thanks alot for the help, yet another example of how this site has helped me out

Buy the time you add shipping it could cost you about $100...although they are worth it I would opt to be patient and one will pop up eventually at a pick n' pull for a lot less.

the going figure which varies with the radiator and other variables but the rule of thumb is 100CFM for ever 10HP so 2500CFM fan will cool 250 HP.

I hope to have close to double that when I'm finally done. (I know, I know I'll never be done) But I'm pretty sure I'll never do anything that would put me over 500hp.

I'm going out to a buddy's in Kelowna to do my exhaust, he is gong to check around there and see if something's around there.

I heard that too....the taurus fan I had prior did a really good job even in high temp, stop n go situations. It worked hard but kept things at a level 205 degrees.
