going through oil in my F150 2000 5.4L

It has 110,000 or so miles on it and has been going through oil pretty fast. it doesn't seem to be burning any oil, I checked the plugs and the ends all looked fine but....

the cylinder closest to the driver had a bunch of oil in the spark plug hole. The electrode was dry though so it wasn't in the cylinder... I changed out the valve cover gasket today and that looked ok so I'm wondering where else it could come from?

Are there any oil passages that run close to the spark plug holes where a crack could be leaking out of the head?

The warranty expires in august so I want to get this taken care of before that!

any ideas where the oil could be coming from besides the valve cover?

thanks!

yeah, I've heard that one, I wonder if oil would leak from the pcv hose down into that hole....

I think the hose goes right over it.
