Lenore, how to modify Mark VIII shroud.......???

E-fan
Lenore,
Which controller did you use on that Ford fan? I hate to admit this, but
my Troyer setup just dumped on me in the middle of Arizona summer.
It appears that the controller for the second fan won't adjust, but will go on when the air cond. is on. I put the stock fan and shroud back on, but really do prefer the e fans. Thanks
Bob

Mark viii fan shroud
Sorry guys, I just towed my 6000lb trailer up the pass to 5000 feet and the radiator water temp never got above 209 degrees. (read by my scanguage) Tranny temp was just below at 204 when climbing...And when I pulled in the campground the temp dropped back to 193 which is my normal temp...As everybody said, the extended shroud is not necessary. That 18 inch fan moves as much or more than the 19inch Ford fan...Good luck with your mods..

Bubba- I don't think it will have any affect on the life of the motor- they are a pretty rugged motor and though the B&W's are run hard and idled a lot, they never seem to have any problems with the fans. They get a lot harder use than the average civy car or truck ever will. As I said, Ford started kicking them back at the top a number of years ago and I assume they still do. (I've been retired a couple of years now) I have thought for many years that it would be nice not to dump ALL of that hot air on the already hot engine if you didn't have to- Ford evidently thought the same thing.

controllers
Lenore and Bubbajoe,
Thank you. Much appreciated. I think I'm going to sell my Troyer setup and go to Lenores set up. I like the idea of having OEM reliability and a shroud. The Troyer fans have worked well for a year now, but I was warned about the controllers and should have listened. Oh well, live and learn, huh?
Thanks again. The people on this site are the best.
