misfire

I have changed all the spark plugs(with motorcraft) the wires(with borg warner) and the coil packs (borg warner) and it still says misfire on cylinder one

any ideas as to what might be causing this and as far as I can tell all of the plugs are gapped correctly

switch the #1 injector with the #2 injector, and, reset the computer. If you get a #2 misfire the next CEL, your injector is bad.

Let us know what the outcome is.

Good Luck!

I looked at the price of 8 new injectors and even with my employee discount at o'reilly auto parts it is freakin expensive...it is about $400 for all 8 of them so I hope that if it is bad that the others dont follow suit

and today I unplugged the injector in cylinder 1(it felt like the rpms dropped but not by much) then plugged it back in then unplugged the one right next to it cylinder 3(I think)and it felt like the rpms dropped a little more but I cannot confirm that because I do not have a tach installed on my truck not yet at least

You can find them on ebay for alot less than that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/8-For...spagenameZWDVW

Now, your PCM is telling you there is something wrong in the #1 hole. By *SWITCHING* the #1 and #2 injector and resetting the PCM, you will be able to know FOR SURE if the injector is indeed bad. Because, if so, your next code should read #2 misfire, if the injector is indeed bad.

assuming that it is bad and also knowing that I want to one day get a supercharger should I just get performance injectors or should I just wait until I get the supercharger and get a cheap one for now

I hate to be able to predict the FUTURE, BUT, WHATS The dern code?

No, if you want to do a SC, LATER IN LIFE, you don't add bigger injectors NOW!

Or am I wrong, but, did the carts push the horses in the old days, or did the horses PULL the carts? Can't remember???

From: Georgia on my mind...

Cleaning the EGR ports will get your insufficient EGR flow code fixed.

And I'd be checking compression and leakdown on cylinder 1, assuming spark and injector pulse is okay.
