Crank but no start issue
I had an issue with my '02 F150 Screw yesterday that has never happened before. I stopped at a store and walked in for maybe 2 minutes, came back out and the truck would not start. Starter spun fine, but the engine did not start, sputter, or anything. The odometer was not showing any numbers, just dashes all the way across, and the engine temperature gage was not working. I poked around under the hood for a few minutes and called the wife. She brought me some tools and my cheap HF code reader, and by the time she got there (maybe 10 minutes) the truck started and the odometer and gages were back. I drove the truck home with no problems, but when I killed it in the driveway and tried to restart, it didn't start again! 2 minutes later it started and all was normal. I hooked up the code reader, but it never gave me any codes, and acted like it never linked up to the computer.
Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? I really don't want to get stranded somewhere.

The 05 is quite different due tothe re-design for 2004. Doesn't particularly correlate.
Sounds like an intermittent PCM power relay, especially if the CEL light didn't come on during your outage. Try tapping it while the engine is running and see if it glitches, or swap it with another relay in the fusebox if there's one that is the same and is not critical (perhaps one of the trailer lights). Personally, I'd probably just replace it with a new one just to eliminate it as a possibility since they're apt to go bad.
