Should i do the PI swap?

I just realized that in have non PI heads, so i was told... so im thinking about doing the swap? who has done it, is it worth the hassle? If i do it i'll have to get a new tune right? i have some on order now, i could change the order but i want to make sure... how much will doing the swap cost me? Will i gain, lose or stay the same as far as MPG... i know i will gain like 11HP and 30 TQ... Im really cositering on swaping in a 5.4 down the road. i just dont know if i want to do this or now... Give me some feedback if you can... Thx

If you plan on dropping in a 5.4 then don't bother and just wait till you get a 5.4 with PI heads. You could talk to Built54, because I believe he did the swap on his 5.4 before he put in the new motor.

Cool

HI!... Are you sure you don't have P.I heads. A 2001 4.6 should have P.I heads. My fathers old F-150 was a 2001 and had P.I heads. It had a build date of JAN O4.

Anyway. Go on the passenger's side and pull the inner fender well (plastic). Look between and just above the 1st and 2nd exhaust port, and you will see the casting #'s "P.I Like the pic below :

i had em look at the intake manifold last night. non PI's had the first intake runner on the passenger side and the PI's had the first runner on the drivers side unless ford only did that variable with the car intakes..

PI intake i ported

Non PI intake i ported

he might have PI heads then, looks like truck intakes are the same.
