Now i can't remember the code but my light came on awhile back and talked to a ford tech and he said it was the vent valve solenoid so i replaced it last night...fired up the truck and no light on! then shut it off went in for dinner and then after dinner came out to take the g/f to the movies started it up and TA DA! light back on I am an a Apprentice at Toyota so I do have some knowledge so if anybody has any checks or ideas that would be great. I have not been able to check the light yet to see if its the same code but i will monday. What should i do if it is? Thanks for all your help.

Yea , it sure is - First time I seen that. Anyway , here's the system diagram -
Actually, this can get confusing. There's two parts referred to as the vent solenoid. The purge valve has solenoid attached.
Above the rear axle is another. But if they replace that, that have to replace the charcoal filter as well.
Which was replaced?
There's also a vent on top of the tank.
I think it's the rear solenoid above the rear axle they replaced = #9 .
BTW - You could have a broken wire in the harness. Check the circuit for power and/or correct voltage. Mines been disconnected since 2002 - So my EVAP doesn't run. Never had a problem with my 98 since.

Yes sir, Partick. It's been disconnected since 02. Just the the filter piece and hose. All electrical connectors remain plugged in. That filter deal plugs into the back of the solenoid and in my model, the other end of the hose runs into a compartment in the fuel tank area. I'm pretty sure it's there to control fuel odor. Never had a problem with that . Never a problem in the EVAP system.
I contradict what I posted earlier, my EVAP does indeed run. Otherwise, I would have the P1000 code and the scanner I have tells me what monitors have not run. Everything runs and works fine.
