HP gains out of EDGE, 4.10's and cat back?

That's the question guys. What's the max HP/torque I can squeeze out of all those parts separately and all together at the rear wheels, and what the base power is out of a standard cab short-bed 4.6 with 3.55's. I trust in everyone's expertise of performance parts, so lay it on me! (no homo lol)

Delete the edge or update to a Gryphon, Off the torque robbing 40's , replace with a Roush/Borla cat back. If you have to have it loud as hell - Go with some little Magnaflows and Long Tube headers w/High Flows.

The 4six is torque lacking, not enough for a heavy truck IMO.

4.10's - VERY awesome mod, the best for that truck. That and the tune alone will make a big difference..

BTW - Spec charts are here - http://www.fordf150.net/specs/

Well what is the maximum power and torque that can be made out of the gryphon, the cat back and the 4.10's? And what is the base power at the rear wheels?

Depends on who's tuning and what hardware you've installed on the truck. A stock exhaust would be better than 40's as far as putting your torque down low in the power band where you need it. Flowmasters are torque eaters, but they sound good. Flowmaster makes a 44, I don't know about it's constuction, but it may be better than the 40's.. It depends on what your really after- performance or sound, you can have both. I can tell you right now that your max torque is up high where you don't use it unless you drive around @ WOT everywhere you go...

Power at the rear wheels is hurting, just from the 40's - That's an easy fix tho (change them) - A good tuner might be able to tune your torque lower , but it will be a b^tch with the 40's... -That's what Dyno's are for .. 4.10's will definitly offset torque giving you more at the rear wheels. What I'm saying is, you could do allot better with a well thought out exhaust system.

I only did my exhaust for sound. If I go back and redo it, it will be true duals with an x pipe, long tube headers, and dual Magnaflows.

That's what you want.

Data from the past - The difference between Shorts and Long Tubes on a 5.4L is 30 hp and 35 foot lbs of torque @ the rear wheels..

Your 4six will show at least that from what you have presently if you go with High Flows and Magnaflow mufflers. A 2.5" SIDO might be better. - And/Or an X muffler..

True duels and x pipe - I would knock the pipe diameter down to 2.25 in order to keep your torque down low. But, with Magnaflow mufflers you could probably run 2.5" and custom tune and still be in the ballpark to were a tuner can give you what you want. You have 2.5 now, so I would just go with it. You get 3 tunes so you can work it in.

You don't want to wait to long on custom tunes after an LT install. It's a long wait to get them back sometimes. You could be running lean and that's not good for an extended amount of time. That usually is a 3 valve issue, but I would sk about your 2 valve in the other forum.. You SHOULD be in the process of getting your tune tweaked after the LT install IMO.

Best thing to do is visit the chips and tuner forum and ask PHP some questions about that. They visit the forum often - It's far better to call them tho.

That's about all I can help you with, hopefully others will chime in with their suggestions.

Wouldn't I have to modify a set of long tubes from an older 4.6 since they don't make any for the newer trucks?

Your gears will make the most difference. No matter what other mods you get, your gears will put that power to the wheels.

gears and LT's will make the biggest difference along with a custom tune to help things along. I just put on some long tubes and according to my scangaugeII it added almost 40hp.....that is all a matter of how accurate that gauge actually is. Let's just say I felt it immediately.....I need some 4:56's to help with the torque robbing 34" tires I have, then off to a dyno for more tuning.

Anyway I could modify a set of LT's off of a newer 5.4 to match mine?

not yet. i have been working with an exhaust guy, and seeing what we can come up with. It slow going, because its the same place I bend tubing for cages, and other toys (usually for buddies). I will let you know if we come up with anything. He has also talked about making a turbo set-up.... so I guess I will wait and see.
