A little moisture in my oil

Driving a 02 5.4L stock. Oil change this last weekend noticed the oil fill cap had a fair amount of buttery brown oil/ water in there. drained the oil and did not notice any free coolant an not much of a problem w/ the oil.
No oil in coolant reservoir and still smell sweet, not like exhaust
Should I worry? Or is this normal for this vehicle in northern climates?
Suggestions? Thanks
Matt

That is most likely just condensation from temp changes and humidity.

Mod motors are horrible at keeping condensation in the system. It usually takes over 40 minutes of rough driving to completely clear the crankcase/valve covers of condenstion. I can pop my oil cap off and wipe out all the milky oil, screw it back on, go for a 25 minute drive and its back. The key is to avoid short trips and keep it warm. Sure your engine runs at operating tempterature, but it takes a while to vaporize all the condensation that collects in these motor. Just normal

Didn't we used to have a sticky about this? We should - this comes up EVERY winter.

Talking Good news

Thanks for the good news. I'm glad I asked here rather than worrying about head gaskets or worse. My old Subaru only got water in the oil after I used it as a submarine a couple times.
