Coil Question....

Is it common to have a coil go out and not have a CEL?

Truck ran bad...changed plugs....then it ran great....while installing the plug i accidentally broke one of the coil connectors clip thingy so it would slip out every once and a while and it would drive like crap again and it would throw a code....well today i replaced the connector but it still runs like crap but doesnt throw a code.....think one of my coils is bad?

the wires are part of the harness and i dont think they change colors i have no clue what your talking about.
are you talking about the new plug? if thats the case then just plug it into the cop and compare it to the other cop's. just look at the left wire and see which one is the left wire on another cop. and same with the right wire.

Coil connector wires have their specific color/stripe wires. None are identical in that harness.

What are trying to do ? or determine ?

The connector you show isn't part of that harness by wire color. That's not the way it works

Did you push the RED insert into the connector correctly? That clip locks the wires in place. Then you need the Foam/rubber insert pushed inside the connector as well. It will collect moisture quickly if you don't get it right.

Those connectors come apart, you know that right ? That's how you replace them. It's very easy, - faster and better than splicing.

Memo12687, where did you get your coils from. I hear that Global sells decent coils. They have them on Ebay for $69.95 + $12 for shipping. Im thinking of going with a set of those.
