the 7.3 is a great engine, the 6.0 and 6.4 are junk, also the 6.7 is NOT cancelled. the current 6.4 will not meet 2010 emissions and the navistar/ford contract is done.

i would like to see the 6.2 in a half ton, but something needs to be done, just like the muscle car, the corvette and viper stomp the mustang now that they dont make the ford gt anymore, better motor in the mustang or start on a new car
ooh never knew there was a 6.0 in the 1/2 ton chevys. thought it was only the 5.3 in them.

That makes absolutely no sense that they would cancel the 6.7.
Think of all the fleet sales Ford loses without a competitive diesel engine, not to mention people who still need a heavy duty truck. The market share is shifting to the customer who uses the truck, away from the ones who buy a truck for image. Ford would be crazy to not offer a diesel engine.

yea, i work at a oil changing place and most of the fleet trucks that come in are f150's or super dutys. 2 landscaping places use fords, a pipeline company use all 3, ford f350 5.4, chevrolet 2500 6.0, and dodge 2500 5.7, another pipeline use fords, and dodge cummins, and a brush clearing company use ford f250 and chevrolet 2500

and most people want fords super dutys, many get the 6.4 or the 5.4 not many 6.8 v10 because of the gas milage and the underpower not to mention the 6.4 TT PS is underpowered compared to the 6.6 duramax and the 6.7 cummins

the 4.6 is last compared to 4.8 and 4.7 dodge and chevy small v8 motors

I was at Romeo Engine Thursday and they had a 6.2 running in the dyno. So far it's a go from what I heard. Also on a side note the orders for the 2009 F150 are pouring in. They are running around 50,000 orders behind right now with no down time scheduled for Romeo or Dearborn Truck plant. Pretty amazing considering the economy.

If they can make the same torque curve out ot he 6.2 as the 5.4 but more and use the cylinder deactivation they could get good milage out of the truck as long as they dont add to much more weight. That is has alawsy been a killer of the F150 is it weighs to much, hell ford knows about the problem since they added so much alumunum on the 04 and newer trucks.
