Unfortunately, it won't have anything. It has been stopped and no work is being done on it. Maybe after the market comes back and there is a demand for it but for now, Ford is not investing money in an engine of limited production. You can also put the 4.4 Diesel on the cancelled list. It was suppose to see the F-150 trucks this spring- it won't and won't for awhile either. I expect the replacement for the 5.4 is also going to be cancelled.

Ford better do something about the 5.4L Triton. The engine is becoming dated and underpowered compaired to other truck engines on the market. It will be soon left in the dust if they don't tweek some more horses and tq out of it before it's retired.

I'd like to see the small diesel and the big V8 as an option soon.

underpowered ford has always been underpowerd well from 97 on. Chevys have 5.7Ls dodges have 5.7L hemi's tundra has a 5.7L even the nissian truck has a 5.6L and ford makes 5.4Ls....and then they desided to throw 4.6s and 4.2Ls in f150s too. witch needs some mods to get it rolling easyer.

i would love love love to see that 4.4L come out. that thing would have cold air stright piped and a chip the 2nd day i had it!!

The 6.7 is canceled? I was under the impression that the 6.4 wouldn't pass the next set of emissions laws and the contract with International was expiring after 2010?

I think ford and international are back in court with each other because of the 6leaker. But I think there main problem is keeping them selfs and others in business.

thought the newer chevys were 5.3's or 6.0's in the 3/4 tons and bigger? there the engines people i know have in theirs, but then i think the older chevys had 350s which were the 5.7's. the '09 dodge has the 5.7 hemi with 370 horses and a little over 400 ft. lbs of torque (supposedly). but yeah i think ford should step it up a bit with their 1/2 ton truck engines

yea fords 5.4 is underpowered compared to the 5.7 hemi's and the chevrolet 6.0 in the half tons, even the 6.8 v10 isnt as strong as it should be

i would like to see the 6.2 in a half ton, but something needs to be done, just like the muscle car, the corvette and viper stomp the mustang now that they dont make the ford gt anymore, better motor in the mustang or start on a new car
