Odd Vibration

First off, I would like to state that I am new to this forum, and I hope this is in the right section.

I have an 06 s.crew w/ a 4.6. I've noticed that when idling between 600-700 rpms, I get this vibration and buzzing sound. Im not 100% sure where it is coming from, but I can sort of feel it coming through the brake pedal when I sit at a red light. I don't actually think its the brakes, though, but that maybe it's something in the lower part of the engine compartment or something. I don't know. I kinda have a hard time explaining it. Has anyone else had this problem??

I think one time someone told me it could be a heat shield of some kind, that makes sense to me. Any suggestions would be aprreciated. Thanks.

well wecome to the site, and yea i had the same problem with mine, a exhaust hanger broke with my true dual flowmasters and when i sat at a red light it would rattle, but now i have straight pipes so that fixed that lol,

you may check underneath the truck for broken hangers or a heat shield that fell down, heat shields always fall off, no big deal just put it back up or take it off

Thanks for the tips, F150fella. I'm willing to bet more on a heat shield, cause I replaced my exhaust and still have the rattle. Just wanted to confirm my suspicions. I'll check it out tomorrow when I have time. This board is very informative, proud to be called a member here!

i have the same problem with my truck my brake pedal and my gas pedal have a vibration in them i can also hear a rattle that sounds like its coming from the intake area that is where the vibrating s coming from. the vib is kinda intermittent doesn't really happen at certain times but more pronounced when the engine is hot also i dont know if their related but my **** intervals are strange it seems like it wants to shift up way too early and takes a considerable amount of pedal accel to get it to downshift if i come to an abrupt stop at a light it rattles and vibrates the pedals and then usually levels out?

Idling between 600-700 RPM's is incorrect. Their not programmed to idle that low. So somethings definitely wrong. Should have a DTC.

If it's truly idling that low, -have your cats checked for restriction. Or your drive by wire is screwed up, (throttle body).
