I think those engines had Carter carberators on them, but that was during a time period when thing where changing fast. I actually thought you were working on an engine a couple of years older. But those engines had blowby period, that is why they ran such high viscosity oil. The tolerances were so loose the thick oil occcupied allot of space.
When you changed the fuel filter, did you check to see if the carb had the old rock looking filter that bolted right up to the carb, or does it have a paper filter?

It has a metal filter attached to the carb. The blowby also has oil smoke so is that bad? If it is i am going to rebuild.

Well... I could not figure out what was going on so i traded it for a 1988 F-250 351w EFI but thanks for all your help!
