Starting Problem

I have a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis with the 302, and starting Monday morning, it has had trouble starting up.It has had a battery, battery wires, starter, and a new alternator put on a few years ago. The car cranks fine on the first shot, but never starts up for at least four shots. I don't know why. It seems the longer it sat(about 3 hours or more), the better chance it had for doing this. Took it down to auto parts store and had battery, and alternator checked and they passed with flying colors. It will start up, it just takes a minute or two. They told me that it is because the weather has gotten colder, but it has been cold for almost a month now. On top of that last year when it was 10 below zero, it started on the first try, with no problems. I don't know what happened. The car is driven daily, so I don't believe that it sits too long. Any thoughts?
