Hello and Welcome sir!

The dang Klingons are at it again with their subspace intereference. Your transmission arrived somewhat %$#@@&*(.)(.)*~ garbled.

Let me run it through the translator - one moment please ..derp..berp..slerp...ba-bing!

I have 2004 4.6, and I wish to add tuning and a dual exhaust to it. Will this help my mpg? What is better, Fartmaster or Magnaflow, and can I get rid of the cats?

Are single-in and dual-out better? What is the best sounding type? What is the best programmer for the money?

Thank you all in advance! And a Special Greeting to the Great Mr. MGDfan, for I know he will be able to advise me properly! And yes, I will accept, if I must, input from Shotgunz - but only grudgingly...
All righty then. Having that straightened out, I would advise:

Magnaflow over Fartmaster for performance.

Fartmaster, if you really dig that unique sound, but are less worried about any minor torque loss.

MPG savings are not guaranteed with either an exhaust or a programmer - you may see a marginal amount, or you may not. The way it is with these mods.

Cats - Federally mandated - best to replace with 2 Magnaflow hi-flow cats.

For any additional advice on exhaust systems, may I suggest seeking counsel from our Exaulted Exhaust Emperor, DarrenWS6.

As for programmers, I would advise exploring the world of Custom Tuning -

www.VMPtuning.com
www.troyerperformance.com
www.gopowerhungry.com

Any of these fine folks can set you up with a custom-tuned SCT handheld.

Please read the 'Stickies' at the top of this forum: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ch...rogramming-34/

Good luck, fellow traveller! Live long an prosper!

Dear roger1982,
On behalf of F150Online, please accept my apology for ... well, you know: HIM.

King MGD has been cited (previously) for deciphering coded requests from space aliens while I thought the judge limited him to supervised computer time? Today's parole system is in sad shape.

I would spend all of my money on a throttle body spacer, COLD air intake,

and adjustable power band.

For exhaust, please do not listen to Chief MGD. As you can tell, his childhood accident has scarred him (he was trying to give himself a muffler burn and be cool like the other kids - Flowmaster muffler damn near burned his ear [and other body parts] off). A much better option is the Adjustable Dual In/Dual Out system. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than a Magnaflow too.

Before you say it, there's no need to thank me. I'm just here to keep track of him and very glad to help you.

Have a nice day!

(I almost forgot - stay the hell away from his proprietary FartMaster System.)

^^ I always wondered - now I know

To Mister Roger - as all us advanced, benign and enlightened beings well know, one does not inherently trust anyone who names himself after a weapon of mass destruction.

A safe journey home, my fellow wanderer ... and please avoid Uranus - where he's from.

I'm going to regret this, but I gotta ask - do you have a link for the torque curve spacers?

Shootsgunz (there, fixed that for ya) You did have to go and ask didn't you? Well, you didn't have to, but you did, so, same thing! I believe I saw that space ship drop off a fresh supply when it came to pick up... whoever. Want one, get 'em while they're hot? Sign me up for 2. If one's good, two's gotta be twice as good right? Maybe not.... Hey look, they dropped off a supply of muffler bearings and Johnson rods too, and oh yea, almost forgot the snake oil!

I figured, but these days you just never know (Tornado?).

Has anyone seen my can of squelch?

I know I set it right next to my box of track tension. Damnit! I hate when I loose stuff....................and NAPA is closed now.
