Of course you can have an opinion, - I'm just posting facts, -basically what it is, or what it's suppose to be mathematically, in a sense lol.

Sorry if I seemed a bit snappy. We may not all agree on some things but at least they're little friendly things. Not even close to a Ford vs. Dodge argument. I bet we'd be on the same page about that one!

In a heavy truck, what you need most is low end torque, not horsepower. 4.6's can be made to put out tons of horsepower, but for torque, there is NO substitute for cubic inches. Does a 4.6 have enough torque? It all depends on what you use the truck for and what your expectations are. For my use, my 4.2 V6 has enough torque and horsepower and meets my expectations.

yea that makes sense. see i dont need alot of power because i really dont haul stuff. I would give up the extra 10 horsepower to get about 3 to 5 more mpg's.

and i thought the blackwood was only made in 01-02 "Only 3,356 Blackwoods were made in just 15 months of production"
EDIT: "It sold in the United States 2002 only, and sold in Mexico 2002 and 2003."

The odds aren't good that you will get that much gas mileage improvement with a 4.6 over a 5.4. My son in law is only getting about 13 with his 4.6.......

Yea, used one at work. - If it breaks down, I just grab my little f150 1/2 ton with the car hauler and tow it home or junk yard, -which ever fits best at the time.

I pulled those big handicap conversion vans with my 150, - man those vans are heavy, - I bet the gross weight with trailer was about 9500 lbs. The last van I had on, -had to back it up hill around a few hairpins @ about 8% grade for 1500 feet or so. That's the first time I ever heard my u-joints go TWANG!!!!. I just thought, oh boy, here we go lol. U-joints are still factory originals w/270,000 miles behind them.

Yep, I had 99 PSD 4 door 1 ton dually w/7.3. Loved that engine in the mountains. The mountains in PA anyway. Pulled a few heavy loads that didn't seem heavy behind that thing. I miss that truck!!! Only thing I didn't like is it was to long. 4 door w/8' box. It was bad *** tho. I never chipped it or tuned, I can just imagine what a performance tune would be like, - probably an animal lol.

I'm not sure if there's any truth to this, but I talked to a guy at a gas station that said his would beat a Stang with a performance tune.

Yea, okay
