I don't think you've ever tried hot rodding 4 wheel drive on asphalt. That Dude was yankin your chain. At least that's been my experience. We picked up the pieces we could find, then my bud had to call his dad

I have on the other hand in my dads f350 7.3L 4x4 6 speed manual, Banks kit, 14"s of lift on 40" toyo's, gears all the way around, heavy duty clutch, warn hubs.. etc....
Had a chain hooked to a stump on a jobsite, had it in 4 high yanking away at it and at one point was pissed off enough that it wouldn't come out, I just held my foot in it and to my surprised turned those 40's on dry pavement with ease. And smoothly at that, no hop. Just a lot of noise and some side to side sweeping motion. Although I knew it wasn't going to help pull the stump... I don't think I let off for a good minute and a half which seemed like 30 minutes. When I was done, the smoke filled nearly the whole block...Good thing the ole man wasn't there. Pretty sure I would have went home early.
Those 40" toyos have a really deep growl to them when spinning. When you pick the rpms up a bit, it changed in pitch to an ear piercing fog horn like sound.

2002Greymason,
You should post the following question. Those of you that have done the 4.6 to 5.4 swap what are your opinions. You can take two trucks and option them identically except for the engine and they will not be the same. All 4.6 trucks get the 8.8 differential while the 5.4s get the 9.75. The exception being the 7700 package or the F250LD which get the 10.25. The different differentials is enough to make a mileage difference. The 9.75 is huge compared to the 8.8. In the same truck, not identical, the 5.4 is more economical and more powerful.

It was an International Scout with a half cab. I do remember it was short bedded. That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.
It was scary as hell when that thing came apart. I even picked my feet up off the floorboard.

In 4 wheel drive, it would have tire hop so bad, that there'd be women and children screamin, bolts snappin, pieces flyin etc:

Wait, here it is.. skip to 24 seconds. It was better when they played the whole clip during the show. If I remember right, he screamed it after a big burnout they were doing.

the 5.9CTD is the best..IDC what anyone says!
my friends family (basically my other family ) has a 2001 2500 5.9CTD and a 99 7.3 PSD and i have pulled the same 5th wheel camper with both trucks and the dodge pulls with no problems, dodge has a chip for about 50 hp or so, the ford has a programmer,
dodge=crap cummins=best
