not sure what PWC is, but they also have a smaller one for "import cars" so make sure you're buying the correct one for your setup

Yes Bucky919, that is the oil filter wrench I purchased and it works great. I see a number of folks mentioned "Strap Wrenches" which I own but could not see a way in the tight fit area to use. I use the the "Auto Adjust Filter Wrench on a long extension......

The metal strap wrench (K-D) is a good one and I've never bent it even taking the 1st (factory installed) filter off. It's easy to get to from the top with the intake tube out of the way. I changed the filter the 1st couple of times from the bottom and decided that was stupid. Much easier from the top. The flexible handle on the K-D allows you to clear the engine from the top. I wouldn't use the cheap imitations though, pretty sure you could bend them.

The short answer is yes... you just have to remove the cab. Done all the time in the dealerships. I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear. The short answer is still yes... without removing the cab... but you aren't likely to come out of that one smiling! Good luck.

I don't have that problem go some place else. I had a minor issue one time and they eat the service no charge.

I am getting ready to do that myself. I don't plan on removing the cab.

But if Code is correct from all I have read I will not be smiling doing it, Just after it is finished and driving a quiet truck again..

One tip is to take air out of the front tires to help lower the truck and use a brench, like at the ball diamond to stand on to get up higher.

Another from a timing cover thread is to use RTV silicone on all the t-joins (I think that is the correct term) so that the oil doesn't leak out from the timing cover.

Here are a couple of links to threads to get you started.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/v8...d-gaskets.html

There is also a .doc instructions on how to change the heads on one of the forum threads.

I have a copy if you want it.
Just PM me your e-mail addy.

Good Luck.

Their explaination (excuse)

The dealership uses a fancy oil filter wrench from Snap On
Because it is under exhaust, the oil filter gasket heats up and binds the filter to the block.

They say it is a booger bear,
Guess I'll track down Snap On
