Angry Oil filter..oh noooooooooooo!

I was worried about doing the spark plug change next month...First a quick oil change.

why did they hide the oil filter? and the ONLY way to get to it was a oil filter tool that fits on the end and uses a socket wrench.
IT WON"T MOVE AN INCH... but then the oil filter rounded off. HOW DO YOU GET IT OFF?

I bet the stealership will change a small fortune.

Any ideas?

Well you could call the filter installer at the engine plant to remove it for you.

If he could get his arm up there. You should see how miserable it is trying to get one off my PWC. I gave up and brought it in. I asked the service guy to show me what he uses. It was a super nice strap wrench that had a metal band . He bought the last one off the tool truck it was German made . so Im sure it was top dollar . but worth it.

I havent found a dealer that is trustworthy. Every time I get a service done, there are problems with their work, or they mess up something else on my truck while they have it. When I had my 30 k service done, I paid the $300 + for the work, and realized a couple weeks later , they never even took the wheels off my truck. The brakes were shot and tires were never rotated. so who knows if they even did the transmission service. Crooks

Do they put in 7 qts. When I first bought my truck I had the dealer do the oil change, I noticed the invoice said 6 qts. so I questioned them on it. They said " so do you want me to change it and charge you for another qt." I just wanted to be sure they put the proper ammount of oil in. I didnt need a smart azz remark.

Find a different dealer. I know where you are located, and you aren't out in the middle of BFE. Ask around for recommendations.

My dealer does not mess up my truck and with coupons it's $25 to $30. And that's for 7 qts.

I've tried three dealers within 20 miles of me , and really wanted to build a relationship with a competant dealer. We used to be a two ford family . Unfortunately after speaking with quite a few people, it appears all the local dealer are schmucks. You wouldnt believe the B.S. I went through with the dealer my wife bought an explorer from. But thats a long story for another day.
