Coolant Flow-Intake Crossover Question
Does anyone know if the heater system has a shut off valve to stop coolant flow through the heater core when the heater isn't in use?
I'm trying to figure out if the coolant flows through the heater core constantly? If I remember right, my old SuperDuty didn't have a valve and the coolant constantly flowed through the heater core. One of the mods was to put a shut off valve in the line so you could stop the flow during the summer.
Does a 2002 F150 have a valve to stop the flow? I can't find a diagram to see all the parts.

This is a pict of what I'm trying to get to. If I "T" back into the heater core hoses, will the water flow through if the heater is off?
No need to do the "T" if I have to ride around with the heater on to keep the flow going.
Or would it be better to run the "T" back into the hard line that goes through the valley of the block? It goes directly into the back of the water pump.
