Boooo! Hooooo! Nobody wants to play with me!

Dammit! I can't remember the last time anybody challenged me. I must be surrounded by old farts. Even the "fart canned ricers" don't wanna play.

I pulled up to a redlight one day last week and a dude in a new Mustang(not a GT, probably 190 HP V-6) pulled up beside me. We both left the redlight at low speed at first, but we both kicked it at about the same time. I immediately pulled away from him, much to my astonishment and his too . At about 90 MPH I looked in my rearview and he was pretty far behind me. I love this truck!

Flea is back in business

Got home on Saturday. Sunday went to Autozone to check out some engine degreaser. On the way there, there was a Chebby s-10 Xtreeme thing. Had to have open exhaust, cause was loud as ***** and sounded like it too. Anyways, he pulls beside me (and I know he's wanting to race, because everytime I would change lanes, he'd change the opposite way. Finally got to a stoplight. Light turned green. It was sad. Even Chevy owners would have to admit it. By 45mph, I had him by 5 truck lengths. And he even revved his engine at the light, and floored it on his takeoff. Sorry, but that's one more for me!

Hey guys... Flea here.

Ok. Trucks in the shop for brakes. Driving a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser (suprisingly enough, this thing hauls). At a stop light against a mid 90's Maxima. Light turns green (I auto-sticked this tank), and I took off (I have a habit of getting good jumps off the line). This guy floored it, cause I heard him revving his engine over Godsmack in my CD player. I hit second, and it was all over. This guy couldn't even keep up with this cruiser. I'd hate to see what Jasmine would do to her! :P

My first kill!

I had my wife's Taurus in the shop ( $900 for axle seals, 2 tires and an oil change!!). She had a '01 Ford Focus as a loaner and we were at the movies but because we had met there, had separate vehicles. On the way home, she pulled up beside me at a red light and gave her little 4 banger a wimpy sounding rev and looked over with a little grin. When the light turned green, I unleashed the mighty 4.6 and, even though that little Focus was screaming at about 9 grand ( what the hell, it's a loaner!) I pulled away and registered my first victory. It was a bonus that the "victim" was my wife! I can't touch her 3.8 Taurus though.

Well guys... got 3 tonight.

First was a 1996 F-150 5.0L. Buddies truck; caught him good on takeoff, and had him by a trucklength then shut it down @ 50. He wouldn't give up, so I floored it and raped him all the way to 75. No real challenge.

Second was later tonight... about 10:30. Typical rice. 90's Honda CRX with a 4" exhaust acting all bad. Showed him what's what. We left the light, and he's revving his little thing for all it's worth. I'm in my lane cruising in second at about 2200 rpm, and he's struggling to pass me. I let him think he was beating me, then dropped it to first and flew past him. Gotta love the truck.

Third was a 2000 Camaro RS. Guy with his chick in it. Left the light normal and he jumped on it. My G/F was like "are you just gonna take that?!?" so I did what was needed and showed that guy why Camaros need V-8's to compete.

Flea??...

I agree with you about the camaro's needing V8's, but to compete?? I have a friend with a 1996 Camaro w/ 3.8L and I bet he can beat my truck in the end (I have a 97 F150 4.6L 5spd w/ ORP). One time I was driving a 2000 Expy EB 4x4 w/5.4L. We lined em up on a straight away and punched it. He couldn't even come close to touching me from 0-60 (he was wayyyy back there). After that I backed off and he kept coming, we rode side by side and I decided to give him another run . He smoked me, I put the tach up to 5K and he blew my doors off. I quit racing after I saw him passing another car at 70+ mph with an on-coming car in his lane! He just barely made it back in. Well, just had to tug on ya chain a little bit. I love camaro's, just sold mine last month and am waiting for a 97 or newer Z next summer.

Flea,

When we had our 97' F150 XLT Supercab, 4.6l auto, we raced a 96' F150 Shortcab/Longbed with the 5.0 and ate him alive...3 cars at 60mph..

the best race i've ever had i didn't even win.i pulled up next to a 95?silverado reg cab 4x2 i looked over at the guy drivin and he looked at me and shifter into 1st,so i did the same,we both revved em a little, and when the light turned green we both squeled the tires and took off.i never got more than 3 feet behind him,he barked the hell out of the tires when he hit 2nd.after we'd both slowed down i pulled up next to him and we were both laughin.i got beat but it was a good race.my truck was pretty much brand new so that didn't help, and i think i had just filled it up.i've been wantin to race a trans am or a mustang, just to see where i stand with em.i can kill pretty much anything around here now.i've been waitin for this guy that drives a cavalier with a coffe can exhaust and all these pathetic, stupid lookin decals on the side.me and 2 of my friends pulled up next to him one night and my friend leaned out the window and started yellin your car sucks,he rolled up his window and ignored us,it was great.

I have mixed feelings about leaning out a window to berate somebody's car.

When I was in high school, the best school in town was a public school. Consequently, we had a wide range of kids from the whole economic spectrum. We all tended to get along. At the time, if you wanted to go to a better school, you had to go to a boarding school more than a hundred miles away. Few did. My sister did and she turned into a snobby b!tch.

Some of the guys had to make do with what they had. Some things they did made me scratch my head, but I had more respect for some of them than I had for myself and my other "well to do" friends because these guys actually worked for what they had and they did what they could with what they had. Who was I to crush what little pride they had? They were nice guys.

I know they were jealous of us who had mommies and daddies to buy new cars and tools, but that never stopped us from riding around in their cars and helping them turn a wrench or two. We all went camping, hunting, and fishing. So what if I had a brand new car and they had 5 or 10 year old cars. We enjoyed each other's company and didn't care what we rode around in.

I guess all I'm asking is that you think about what you might be doing when you yell at somebody and make fun of their cars. They could be really nice people.

Try to be nice to people. You never know when you'll need their help. Be careful while you're playing out there too. You could end up hurting or killing innocent people.

Man, those were some of my best cars: looked like crap, but with a little TLC, ran excellent!! I got laughed at too, but usually ended laughing last as I see them in the rear view mirror.

...ok...I won't talk about my '70 Maverick...but there are always exceptions to the rule.

Good kills Flea! My killin dayz are over...until I get that 100HP/250lbs-torque chip from Mike T...

Recent Kills. 1970's Pinto THAT'S - - ABOUT - - IT. My truck is bone stock, there is hardly any performance characteristic from this 4.6L Take off is almost decent but top end Sucks a$$. Of course there are many ways to hop up my performance but not everyone has that type of $$$$, especially with two daughters under 6.
Those two alone make it impossible to upgrade the ride.
Oh, you probably know me! I'm the one you scream by on the highway as i watch in jealously.
Oh, well just venting. I'm better now.
