4.6 v-8

I have a '99 f150 with 170k. Lately when I first start it up it will kinda miss and run rough...changed the spark plugs about 4k ago and there is no SES light. What's my problem? Thanks.

Did you change the coils? is that a coil pack engine? wires? did you use Motorcraft stuff including plugs? Mod motors are picky about that..

could be the coils or the wires. Might replace the wires first.. Rock auto sells motorcraft parts discounted..

How long since the fuel filter was changed, or the MAF and throttle body cleaned?

If you have fairly new Motorcraft plugs, it's probably not that, unless one or more of them are cracked. It happens.

More likely wires or coil pack.

You don't have distributors, they are coil packs.

With that many miles and possibly those being the factory issued coil packs (thought 99 4.6s had COP, but whatever...), you ought to change those out. I think mine made it to about 145k miles before it had enough.

I don't think the 4.6 got COP till sometime in 2000.

Coil Pack=2 coils 4 wires leading from each one. COP=coil on each plug. there is no distributor on any modular engine.
