Rusted EGR valve

Mornin' all,
I have a 2008 F150, 4x4, 4.6 litre, 105000 miles and I am replacing the plugs and boots, power streering fluid, normal maintenance stuff. I have noticed that the EGR valve is rusted to the point that the metal casing that has the crimped fingers on the top is deteriorating really bad, like big flakes of rust falling off bad. Is this something that I need to replace? My truck has been well maintained and runs great and I want to keep it that way. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Kenny.

Common. The engine can look new, - all except for that rusty EGR valve lol.

Usually it's the neck that rusts. I believe you have a combination valve. Those are plastic on top with the DPFE/EVR riding piggy back.

Stems from quick heat cycles/ exhaust/ moisture/ crap primer. The faster the cycle, = the more moisture.

It is plastic on top. So are you saying don't worry about it?
