vacuum cleaner that has a hose then use duct tape and tape a smaller hose that will fit through the plug hole

Rachet =/= impact. See eighty-eight's post(s). Yer confusing air rachet with an air impact. Now - I just came back from a tool store - and they are different tools...

Jakester,
Sorry to hear about the broken plugs. I had the same thing happen to me (crush sleeve on the plug broke and chipped the porcelain, right?)

You did the right thing with the shop vac and mini hose. Scares the hell out of you when you notice that the whole plug isn't in tact. I actually bought a borescope (not a bad investment) and took a look down there. Couldn't see much after fishing around with the shop vac for a half hour or so. Just to make sure, I unplugged the injectors and cranked the engine over a couple times with the plug hole open (not sure if you're supposed to do this?) in hopes that any remaining debris would shoot out.

Really have to work those plugs back in forth; I was sweating bullets! I'm sure your truck will be alright.. be sure to get an oil change though!

Not sure what your point is, but I know perfectly well the difference in an air "rachet" and a regular impact. I have two of each. Well, I will put it this way, we diffrentiate the difference here in the South, just assumed everyone did. I also have a another one that is a "butterfly" impact.

Some of your efforts to point out my mistakes and to prove me wrong on a subject go just a bit overboard and get a bit tiring.

Woah - hang on there - it was not my intent... yer waaaay off the reservation... and just how often has this happened? Not nearly as often as it's happened to me ...

So - we are not allowed to express our views when an item appears, in our view, to be in error, nor correct 'certain' folks? Had no idea - Good to know ...

I thought you had bigger shoulders than that....

Won't happen again - no further interaction (with you) will be occurring.... just explain what you mean to eighty-eight at some point, 'cause they look different to me.

Wow - a thin-skinned Mod ... who woulda thunk ?

My shoulders are aging and just handle less these days.

I know that it was a relief plus a lot of satisfaction to have done it yourself. Congrats!
