5.4 3v spark plug success 55 for 56

I drove it like that for a LONG time never thinking twice it was a loose plug and like Patrick said to me I was about to be the first 5.4 3v owner in history to eject a plug. I mean they are supposed to stick and not shoot out.
The sound became very prominent after the headers so i always thought it was an exhaust leak concerning the headers but it was an exhaust leak concerning a plug. Also that #8 COP was fried literally.

My daughters boyfriend is a mechanic at the local Toyota Dealership...he has a friend at the Ford Dealership...I'm trying to get him to change the plugs...he probably has the tool...
I would like to try it myself...I've never paid for a plug change...always done it myself...the plug change at 80k was a freebie from the Ford dealer during the replacement of the head and catalytic converter...they were going to re-use the old plugs, and I shamed them into a plug change...

Another 8 for 8 came out clean last night without breaking any. It was on my cousins 06 FX4. He was experiencing heavy pinging under load at higher RPMS. PCM was pulling timing trying to reduce ping, it almost felt like the truck was starving for fuel at 3500-4500 RPMS. Occasionally he was also getting extended cranking before the engine fired up.
#1 and #5 had chips in the porcelain right at the base of the plug near the electrode tip. Not sure if this is what was causing the pinging under high load higher RPMS

here's my draw full of my removed plugs, including my special plugs that came out. The boxed up plugs are for a 2v 4.6 so disregard the part number

I'm surprised your customers let you keep the plugs. I'd want to keep mine like a trophy
But everytime I look at this thread it makes me want to change mine Soo bad.. Even though I've got very low mileage, I've had the truck for 10 years since new and they've been bugging me since day one. So, I decided this spring to go though with it and already started using Techron in preparation
There like having splinters.. You just gotta get them OUT..
