Talking HP estimates

Does anybody have hp ratings for the 5.4 with headers, chip and airaid. I am just curious if anybody has found out.

AKULA

P.S. Just got my ceramic coated JBA's in now just waiting on chip. Already have airaid.

Cool

HI!... AKULA : Well according to what I've heard from MIKE T and read in magazines the JBA headers are good for 15-17 h.p , the AIRAID is good for 10h.p and the SUPERCHIP is good for 28h.p. So on a "99" 5.4 that translates into roughly 315h.p at the flywheel. But since a lot of manufactures "OVERATE" their h.p gains I would say it would be closer to a true 300-305h.p at the flywheel.

Gotta remember, too, that each item you add to your truck for a horsepower/torque increase is not going to be cumulative. In other words, a chip that adds 15 horsepower plus headers that add 10 plus intake that adds 10 does not necessarily mean you'll see a 35 horsepower increase. Better a system of carefully planned modifications than a thrown-together heap of mods that don't necessarily give as much benefit for your unique need.

I agree guys I was estimateing at approx 290 or so. Either way the headers and chip and airaid should give some more umph. Thanx for the opinions.

HI!... AKULA : Remember that SUPERCHIPS has proven that their chip gives the "99" 5.4 28 more h.p and 46ftlbs of torque. That brings you already up to 288h.p and 391ftlbs of torque. So I can guarentee that the headers and AIRAID will give you more than 2 h.p. Trust me AKULA I'VE built a lot of engine combinations and I know that some companys over rate their h.p increases. Some more than the others. From my research ( and I mean a lot of research) I have found that the h.p quotes given by SUPERCHIP,JBA and AIRAID are almost perfectly accurate. So I would still say that you are pushing out roughly 300-305h.p. Hey they don't call me the "H.P FREAK" for nothing you know! 8-) 8-)
