I'd bet a nickel that Techron's secret cleaner is PEA, polyetheramine, which is what Gumout has in it as well as several other cleaners. I've recently noticed that STP fuel injector cleaner has PEA on the label. I think the word got out that PEA is the best cleaner.

 

Yes, it's PEA. When you talk about Gumout, you have to be specific - it's "Gumout with Regane". Other Gumout products don't have it.

Techron is the original. Others that have a decent concentration of PEA are Redline SI-1 and Amsoil PI.
