5.4 Oil Use

I change my oil every 5K miles. My truck has the 5.4 with 132K miles on it. It uses a quart of 5-20 between changes. Is this low, high, or normal?

One quart in 5k is quite normal.

I bought a new 2000 F150 with the 5.4 and put 105k miles on it before selling it in 2005. It used a qt of oil every 2500 miles until it got about 80k miles on it. Then the consumption dropped to a qt every 5k miles. I assume it took that long for the rings to fully seat?

In 2009 I bought a used 2002 F150 5.4 with 69k miles on it. After doing a complete service on it, a week after buying it I drove it to my new contract job over 1200 miles away. It burned 1/2 qt on the trip. I suppose the trip finished seating the rings because afterwards it used a qt in 5k miles and it still does with over 152k miles on it. I change the oil at 5k miles and being slightly ****, I add a pint at 2500 miles. I've used 5w20 Motorcraft syn blend, 5w20 Havoline dino, 5w20 Valvoline synthetic and 5w30 Havoline syn blend, oil in this truck. I'm currently using 5w30 Havoline syn blend.
