Motor swap

So after 312,000 miles my ole 2 valve 5.4 in my 2003 f150 finally decided to die on me while I was on my way back home with a donor engine in the bed of my truck. Ironic I know. Lol. So here's the details on my "new engine". It's out of a 2003 expedition that was rolled over. It has 168,000 on it. My question is, what should I go ahead and replace on the engine while I've got it out of the truck? I know the obvious (oil pump, pickup tube, timing chains, guides and tensioners, valve cover gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, I've already got a new intake manifold off of my old engine.) What else should I go ahead and replace without breaking the bank?

If I was in your shoes, I would probably do all that you've already suggested. I might also think about the power steering pump and put in fresh o rings and gaskets for the oil filter mount. Maybe new frost plug & front and rear mains seals. You mentioned that you already have a intake manifold, well while it is off, replace the cylinder head temp sensor and anti-knock sensor and, look over anything else that would lie under that intake manifold. Maybe a new torque convertor?? Might as well throw in a radiator , hoses, water pump and T-stat too. Then there is the crank sensor and cam sensor. WWHoo doggies, Ya do all that, ya better get the duct tape and super glue, cause the bank might be broken?? Seriously do anything that would be a hemroid to do later when the transplant engine is settled into it new home.

Inspect the engine for oil leakage at the head gaskets.

Thank you for your reply! I agree 100% with the whole do anything that would be a hemorrhoid comment. That's what I'm trying to do. As far as plugs add coil packs and alternator etc. I'm gonna wait until they go out but as far as all the really really hard to get to stuff, it's getting replaced. Lol once again .Thank you so much for your input!

After some more time to reflect, maybe do a compression check on the donor before the transplant.
