i was wondering how the low fuel light works? i have a 97 ext cab and bed (30g tank) when the light goes on i still have 8-9 g`s left or over just under 1/3 of a tank is this correct? how does it work out the low fuel?

Are you sure you don't have a 25 gallon tank? I have a reg cab short bed and when my light comes on I have 3-4 gallons left! that is when the light is supposed to come on -

Check your owners manual or with the dealer- I bet your's if 25 gallon-

One sure way to find out is to drive for another 100 miles or so after your light comes on- if you have a 30 gal tank you'll be ok! BUT if you have a 25 gallon tank you'll find out for sure!!
