Thumbs down Coolant mixed with oil

Have a 2015 F-150 with a 5.0 in it, has 84K miles on it and have been smelling coolant. Watched it for about a week and couldn't see any leaks or notice any leaks in the engine bay. Put coolant dye in and checked it after driving it for a day and found the UV dye on my dipstick and inside the fill cap for the oil. Any other possibilities besides head gaskets? Not really sure what else it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!!!!

Does it have the "heated" pcv? My old 03 had a coolant line that warmed the pcv valve, not sure why. Buy that would be sweet if that was the problem.

Took it too the dealer and they said they couldn’t find a leak, or smell any coolant. I told them I saw coolant dye in my engine oil and showed them pictures of it with a UV light, they said we didn’t see anything. So gonna take it to another shop, locally owned and see what they say. Just doesn’t seem to make sense the dealership couldn’t see it.

I had the same thing happen on my 1997 F150 with the 4.6. Everybody said bad head gasket. Turned out it was a corroded through freeze plug behind the cam chain cover. Was leaking coolant from the block, behind the cover and draining down the front of the engine into the front of the oil pan where the cam chain cover overhangs the oil pan. New engine... $7500, replace freeze plug, hoses, 4 oil changes - $2300. Ran it another 100k miles.

Head gaskets are notorious on tenth gens. A new.gasket is available, copper & multilayered, IIRC. Let this go and sometimes heads warp. Suggest draining oil, into a CLEAN container, in case it is good, for a better look. Put some in a clear qt jar and let it sit overnight if a good look is not immediately forthcoming. How much water/coolant do you add per week? Fill coolant to a *very* specific level at COLD and check repeatedly, when cold. Good that you caught this early. Mine.took 3-4 years to find as it got worse at an aggravatingly slow rate. Pressure test to 17 psi showed nothing, but excursions into HOT took out things one after another - lastly, the coolant reservoir. Sheesh. It split, but didn't show or leak, until hot. You could damage a heater core etc. Maintain your vigilance!
