intake silecer removal

intake silecer removal
i have been reading alot about the removal of the intake silecer and the cutting of the maf sencor centerpost can any body tell me what is gained by this and is it simple to do thanks

more air and fuel = more power
Pretty simple, the more efficient you make the engine, the more power and mileage that can be obtained.

Do a search for the MAF mods. Basically you are removing the restrictions in the unit itself and removing the backing plate so the element meters more air to keep it accurate. Works on 50% of people cars/trucks that try it.
