Great board here: loved the MIB theory on 50-mpg F-150. Back here on Earth, though, I am looking for a donor 5.8 Lightning to breathe some new life into my well-loved and well-used (122K) '88 TurboCoupe. No, it doesn't burn -- or leak -- any fluids. Just try to find anything new with the TC's features and V-8(after transplant)/5-spd/rwd/room for 5, etc. P.S. lest you feel I am an interloper on this board, I own a 99.5 black Lightning bought new in June, 1999. Bone stock, bad to the bone fast. No problems whatsoever running Mobil 1 5-30W only.

I think you can still buy them out of the SVO book.I know they were availabe last year, if you find one also get the SVO mass air kit, does wonders for that engine.

 

I would Have Sworn that the Lightning Has a Blown 5.4 Engine. Boy you would have figured a lightning owner would have Known that.

Anyway, Do a Search For Lightning Engines. Someone A while Back had a Source for Lightning Engines With the Supercharger for $4,000.00

The 93-95 Lightnings had a 5.8L 351 C.I. Engine. That might be what he is looking for.

 

The only place in the country that still has them (brand new 351 Lightning motors) is Hawaii Racing in Simi Valley, California. They bought the last 20 that Ford had. This was a few months ago, and I don't know how many they have left. They are complete (from the flywheel to the oil cooler, and everything in between) crate motors. They were selling them for around $4400. Call (805) 583-8880, and ask for Jim Baker.
