5.0 V* Grinding Engine Noises

2013 Ford XLT 5.0, Supercrew, 77.000 miles. Lately on start up the engine makes a grinding noise. Noise goes away after driving. While driving when I stop, I can hear it again.
What could be the problem/

Brought it to the dealership this morning. Glad I did. It was the water pump. Replaced it and working fine.

Very interesting to hear of a waterpump failing that early, although it may be within the lower realm of likelihood. I would wonder it it was ever run without antifreeze coolant, (which has a water pump lubricant in it,) ?????
Still, not the worst thing to replace every 100k. 150 may be a number to consider max. It's a place I don't scrimp... Not That I can quote a brand offhand. I tend to buy from O'Reilly's or NAPA.

I also thought that was a little early for the water pump to fail. Did some research and found it does happen. Of course I'm the lucky one. I did notice that the electric fan came on a lot lately. I guess the water was getting a little too hot for just the air flow.

I've been trying to learn my '01 that I got 4 yrs ago. The oil pressure gauge is a switch. Coolant Temp looks like one too. Fixable for $1-200 ea.
