Exclamation shuddering

Lately I noticed that there is a shaking around 25mph. It doesn't matter what gear I am in. Any idea what it could be?

James,

My guess is tires/wheels or tranny. Tell us more. Did you change the tranny oil lately? New tires or wheels? How long has this been happening? What happened before it? What truck do you have? 4x4,auto?

regards

4x4, auto, the oil was changed around march (dam receipt, where are you hiding)this year. It has only been doing this a couple months though. Just started happeneing all of a sudden at approx. 25mph. In first at 25mph rpm = ~2500 and in second ~1700. Can't be the engine since it doesn't change with rpm or anything.

Does it happen all the time at 25 mph? Are you hard on the gas when it happens? Does it happen regardless of throttle position? Does it happen when down shifting?

My SCrew does this..when I am light on the throttle the trans will shudder, if I step on it it does not shudder...I think its in 2nd that it does this...I have learned to drive it more aggressive at this speed to eliminate the shudder

It works for me...although its not right...some day a shift kit is in store.....

my 97 sc also does this but around 40 mph. i also believe that it is in the tranny. like mach 1 said , even though it's not right, a harder throttle and it does'nt do it. mine is between second and third[auto trans] must be a bad gear i guess

change all your plugs and check the wires. If one pops off the plug it will shudder really bad at low RPMS and miss at higher ones. Pretty common with the OHC motors.

I believe the check eng light would come on. Mine does not come on and the o/d light does not flash. I know a spark plug wire is not loose or off. I know what it's like to have a plug wire off and it doesn't feel anything like that. BTW, do you mean check them not change them?

KingJames, it doesn't. No CE light

I finally got tired of the factory wires doing it. Heck could not even go a block without one poping off. New aftermarket wires solved the issue.

IF you have about 70+K miles, about time to change wires. It is a worst job than changing the plugs.

Would the tires start doing that all of a sudden? I've had the same tires since I got the truck.

My 99F150 xcab was doing something simular to this. It would shake at low RPM but, if I mashed on it the shake would go away. Turned out to be a bad distributer pack. Haven't had the same problem since. Now my starter relay seems to have gone bad. To start my truck I have to turn the key on and then take a screwdriver and short across it to get the dang thing to start. The strangest part is the radio died with it.
