RWL,

You lucky dog. You will get to see your truck bieng built. 2FT is Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. It is the 58153rd truck of the 2000 model year built in Canada. I had the Ford Bug Deflector on my 97. Fit was ok looked very nice. It left scratch marks on the top of the grill so I had to leave it on when my lease was up. The rubber nipples will mark your hood, they glue on. I would still get an other one regardless. I have no expereince with their tonneau cover as my last truck hat a cap. BTW where are you from?

Regards

Question

Just curious...when did you order? I've heard about a holdup on the 5.4L engine from another thread and am curious how long it took for you to get your truck scheduled with one. Still waiting on a build date for mine (ordered 1/22/00). Thanks,

Cool

thanks for the info Jean, I live near Hamilton. I told the dealer I would pick it up myself from the plant and save the $960. but he said sorry can't do that. So we have to pay almost a grand for 25 miles...

We ordered the truck on 1/4/2000 and were told it would be 6-8 weeks.I originally odered black then chickened out and went to red. I love black but I don't have that much time in my life that I can keep it as clean as I would want it.

Thumbs up

I don't know if anyone cares but I had to tell someone. I just got my visitor passes dropped off for he Oakville assembly plant.
Our truck will be built on Mon. the 14th and we will get to see it come down the line.
O.K. I'm done now, you'll have to excuse the excitement I'm a new Ford guy ....a convert from the dodge crowd.

I worked for the company that makes the Ford OEM bug shields for about three years, two years ago. I was in on the design and R&D work for the 97-xx F150 shield. Make sure to attach the "bumpers" to the hood of the truck and not to the shield, if you do the instalation. If you didn't do the installation then make sure they are on the hood and not the shield. Also, the shield should be in contact with the bumpers at all times, if they aren't then adjust the push-in screws so that they will be in contact. If adjusting doesn't work then take it to your dealer and request a new one. BTW, the company also makes OEM shields for Chrysler (I know a bad word around here but...) and Toyota (another bad word).
