Question New Motor?

I have a '98 F150 w/ 5.4L. It has a little over 50K miles, is there any chance I can get a reconditioned motor from the dealer since I have piston slap? My mileage warranty is up, but I still have the 3 yr part left. I talked to one shop manager and he had never heard of it and just said all motors have some kind of piston noise. *was thinking he's full of it in my mind*

Doesnt the warrant say whichever comes first, the mileage or years? But not all 5.4l and 4.6l have piston slap, some do. You should be able to get one, but I dont think you'll get it under warranty.

The warranty clearly states, 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first. The TSB may well cover you beyond the warranty, each TSB has different provisions. Best thing to do would be get a copy of the TSB and read it.
