i am having an oil pressure problem, and could use some help....i was driving tonite going about 50 and i noticed that my oil pressure needle started going nuts...it went from normal to low back to normal...and then it really just started staying near the low end...the light would come on and off...i stopped driving ( of course )..seems to have plenty of oil...

It sounds like an electrical connection problem. The oil pressure guage is basically a dummy light - it's either on or off (normal or low). Since it's jumping around, it sounds like the connection is connecting and disconnecting.
Is your truck still under warranty? If so, take it to the dealer to check.
If not, check the oil pressure sending unit. (Sorry, I don't know where it's located.) Perhaps the wire connected to it came loose.

Here's my story - it's with an 1989 Ranger 2.3L (73,000 miles at the time - 5 years ago), but similar symptoms. I used to drive 150 miles/day, up the Cajon Pass (4,000 ft.). One day I noticed my oil pressure gauge going wacky - like yours. I took it to my mechanic and they checked pressure, sending units, instrument panel, all with no luck. The wacky oil pressure gauge kept it up for about 6 months - then the engine blew! When the engine was broken down, it turns out the oil pump shaft broke! My opinion - get the dealer to drop the oil pan and look at the oil pump - only if they rule out all other sensor failures.
