well mabe i can find somemore wonderful help here as i have in the past seems like every problem we have with this truck everyone else is too we took along trip from about 4000' to sea leval and on the way there i noticed what i thought was the tranny not being able to decide if it wanted to shift up or down then i beleved it was a fuel filter as it continued to get more jerky as i excellerated it and of course ford has to make a special tool to take the dam filter off and to make a long story short we finally got it changed and it was plugged but yet it did seem to want to do the kicken chicken a few times more on the way home ???? would the computer have a code set due to a fuel starvation problem ? as we got further home ie back to higher elevation it seem to be running fine plus i put two bottles of injector cleaner through it .. i swear if its not one thing its something else door locks twigging out blinkers twigging out dome lite cant make up its mind wipers are next i guess ..
anyway any advise is greatly appreceated

I know that on my 1999 F150 SuperCab, there was a TSB for the multifunction switch. For my truck there were a number of peculiar things that happened due to this switch including the windshield wipers coming on with the switch in the off position.
Also, my interior lights did not operate properly... I don't know if the same switch exists on the 97s, but it fixed my wiper problem.

On my 99 F150 with a 5.4L It started shifting erraticaly especialy between 40 and 55 mph. I took it to a trans. shop and was told nothing wrong with trans. suggested that possible egr trouble. Took it to dealer they ran scan and found bad D.P.F.E sensor they replaced sensor and truck runs great.
