reset your computer?

do any of you know how to reset your computer manually? I remember that there was a way to do it on the V-8 dodges, but I cant find any documentation on how to do it with a ford!
Thx

I think all you have to do is remove your negative battery cable from the terminal and then turn the headlight switch on for 5 minutes. At least that's how I was told to do it when I put my Superchip in. I guess turning the headlights on drains any residual voltage from the system.

Once apon a time I had a problem after installing the superchip. The tech support said to undo the battery cables for up to three hours. It also will clear old troble codes if you are trying to use a scan tool on a new problem. The computer holds codes that are repaired for 80 warm ups if you do not reset it.

Lightbulb Ruune-

Just an additional tip. If you disconnect and turn your lights on, make sure that you TURN OFF THE LIGHTS BEFORE YOU RECONNECT THE BATTERY. This avoids a nice surprise that you don't need.
