Question First start vacuum leak?

I've been noticing a strange noise the last couple of weeks on the first start of the day. It's a faint howling noise, and goes away within a minute. Has anyone else had vacuum leak trouble? This is the only thing I can think of it being, since it fades when I rev. the engine a little. Any advice on what to check would be appreciated. It's got me a little worried. Thanks,,,,,98

I thought I was imagining it at first, but it just did it plain as day when my fiance started it. It's more noticable from outside the truck. Help!

I'm not sure if your 4.6 is equipped with one, but I had the same sound a while back. After checking, I found it was a EVR Solenoid. A $2.00 pcv 4' pipe held up to your ear and the Fiance in the truck can help locate the source.

Cool! Thanks Throttle!
The truck is going to the dealer thursday morning for the belt squeal, and I'll get them to check that. Of course I'll get them to check it, then replace it myself. No sense in paying them $100 + plus the part to fix it,,,,,98
