Question FQR Engines

Being a former GM man with little knowledge of Ford products, another question, does FQR mean genuine Ford parts or does that mean another manufacturer but as good as Ford factory parts. GM has Goodwrench parts which are factory parts but also has Delco which are cheapo parts.

it used to stand for rebuilt by ford the farmed out ones are generally ER - engine rebuilders - my opinon worse that fqr, but now when i look at a fqr i wonder if ford does rebuilt them rumours are that they farmed those out too, used to never have problems with fqr's , now not so. I tried to send a fqr back as i did not like the look of it, ford is picky about our (techs) work quality but for them to leave the blocks bellhousing bolt holes full of packed in dirt is ok and for the intake ports to have sand in them is also ok, o by the way the higher up at ford said it was paint overspray. try after mating up the trans to put bolts in a block wich the holes are packed with dirt, and then try to clean them out is even more fun
