HI!... BOOM : I'm running two DERALE "TORNADO" 16 inch electric fans, (119.95U.S) from SUMMIT RACING. They mount perfectly on the stock rad with only about a 1/4 inch of room to spare. The kit comes with all the needed hardware. It also comes with very high quality fuse holders and copper (not "ZIP" ties) fasteners to mount the fans to the rad. I also bought a PERMA COOL electric fan installation kit with thermal switch. ($39.95U.S) from SUMMIT RACING. This thermal switch is actually a electronic thermastat that activates the fan when it hits the pre-set temp. I am running one fan off of the thermal switch and the other is wired to a lighted toggle switch mounted into my engine temp guages, guage pod. I very rarely have to activate the 2ND fan. In the SUMMER my temps stay pretty stable at about 185 - 195 degrees. I am very pleased with this set-up. I have even towed up to 8,000LBS with these fans with NO overheating. I also noticed after the installation that the engine seems to rev up faster in 1ST gear now. I also picked up about 4 mph on top speed. HI!... BOOM : I really don't know if it helped my gas milage or not. I'm not really interested in gas milage. All I know is that I have to travel 240KMs to my close's CANADIAN dragstrip and when I leave my house with a FULL tank of gas, I get there and have only used about a 1/4 tank. The time I get back (another (240KMs) I have about a little less than 1/2 a tank left. So I figure 480KMs on roughly a 1/2 a tank of gas is pretty good for all my mods and my 4.10 gears.

 

HI!... CRASH : YES, the fans mount side by side. They are $119.95(U.S) EACH. I would'nt say the fans are worth 20H.P though. Mabey 10-12H.P at the MOST. Remember that the fans ar'nt actually making H.P. They are just giving you back the H.P that the clutch fan assembly is stealing from the engine. You could get the same H.P by just simply removing the clutch fan, but then your truck would overheat in a matter of miles. I wish I could of gone with a supercharger 1ST, but because I live in CANADA that means I have to save up $6000.00(CAN) just to buy one. I'm having more fun right now trying to go fast NATURALLY ASPERATED!lol! My goal this year is to go 13.9 N/A. WE'LL SEE!lol!

 

HI!... CRASH : Yes I know people in the states. That's not the problem though. The problem is when you try to come across the CANADA/U.S border. They will search your vehicle and if they find something that you did'nt declare then you might as well KISS your vehicle good-bye and plan on doing some jail time! If I did declare a SUPERCHARGER, the CANADIAN customs will take the U.S price of it, convert it to CANADIAN currency and then charge our 15% sales tax on top of that! That's why it's so expensive to get anything from the states into CANADA. I wish I knew someone in the states that I could actually install the SUPERCHARGER in their garage. Then I could just drive across with it on the truck. OH WELL, that's what it is to be CANADIAN, I guess.LOL!

I was just wondering if it helped your gas milage any? About the best that I can do is 12.5 on a good week.
I have the 4.6L.
