Hi All,
About to (well, have been for about
8 months ) do some mods on the engine.
Gibson and SuperChip (already have the
AirAid)...
But for the last two or three months,
noticed that my engine oil light is staying
on during MORNING starts (after over night)
for about 6-8 or maybe 10 seconds?? This
**seems** a bit excessive (and I do NOT
recall it staying on that long when I first
had the F150 - but I'm old).
In addition, it WOULD appear that I've used
1 qt of Mobil1 synthetic (5-Hmmm, think 30
wgt - could be lighter... ) oil in about
3400 miles??!! That is strange...

Have the F150 /4.6/ 2Wdr / 1997...
Has 76K on it... runs well, NO, none,
nada, oil out the tail pipe. Ideas,
help, comments... GREATLY appreciate the
experience under one roof here! Thanks.

I changed to mobil 1 about 1K ago & it's almost down to the add mark now. No leaks or blue smoke. These higher mileage engines must use a little. Mine is at 61K.

I'm going to have a compression check on
this before i sink any money on mods
at this time... I was all set to, then
with a motor already using oil at
76K?? Not a good omen.
