My best time was in October when it was cooler.
When I ran in July, I was 4 tenths (.4) slower.

Is that related to engine performance or personal reaction time ?

Only $10, that's great. Must do that some time.
I have also read somewhere that altitude makes a lot of difference.
Is that true?
I am below sealevel, so maybe I have the fastets 5.4 stock around.

Question Serious

I have never done this.
What's the best way to drive a 1/4 mile.
Just floor it?

Thumbs up

Reaction time isn't part of the ET which I hope is what every here is talking about.

If Reaction Time was figured in, my summer times would really be pathetic.
I drink more in the summer and even worse, the track has all those womens running around in hot pants and short-shorts.

You are absolutely right about altitude, F150Europe!
If you show up with the right altitude, that no one can beat you then hey, no one can.

But, if your altitude is, "man, I know I'm going to lose" then, you probably will.

I am very knowledgable and I know that altitude is a very important component of the total ET.
I don't even like being around people that have a poor altitude.

I advise those who have a truck like mine to go half throttle for the first 1/8th mile.

Did I mention that mine was the fastest?

Hey it's cool Raoul,
I didn't meen to snap either.. Kinda was having a lousy day. Sorry.. Im realy new to the ford f150 scene so bare with me
Well thats pretty cool that my stock time is that quick (optimal weather conditions of course) Im wondering how quick I can get my truck with the 3 main mods everyone is talking about... Chip, Filter, exhaust... By the way I live in California, near the beach so I drive in low altitude most of the time.... also we only get 91 octane here ..

Didn't know all this would stem from my post. Ooops.

Ok, another thing. I just ran across a good deal on a Vortech kit. Under a grand for 95% of the kit. I checked around on Vortechs website and they said, "Stock the 5.4L made 230HP..." 230? I thought the 5.4L in my '99 was rated at 265HP/340lb-ft?

Besides, I'm starting to think maybe the Vortech isn't that good of an idea.....I could use a boost in performance, but I don't think I'm ready for the headache of a blower (and other failed drivetrain pieces because of it). This thing NEEDS to stay reliable cause none of my other cars are

Thanks for the input guys.

Oh, and for those that care, I had no extra crap in the truck, 1/4 tank of 93 octane, side mirrors folded in, engine cooled down in 50 degree weather (no ice) and braked it to 1500rpm at the line. Then put it in D and let it go.

I swear there are 4 tenths to be had in between shifts......ugh the 2-3 is slow.

Remember F150Europe, only half throttle for the first 1/8th !!!

That's the way I do it, honest.

No the deal is gone. It went up on Ebay for (originally) $950 minus fuel pump. End auction was $1500. Still not bad, but if it's not a kit for my 5.4L then I could be spending another $1000 in brackets, blower pulley, discharge tube, etc....

That seller did not like to return email either....so I didn't have that "warm fuzzy" feeling about it.
