You got to be kidding!

That (1rp) is one Raoul Power so, there ain't no way I'm doing the 1/8th much less the 1/4.

I will bring it to Dinwiddie track during the Norfolk rally in July and if it passes tech inspection I will be willing to let someone drive it so, we'll finally have a timeslip on it. But, you've got to promise to be careful and not wreck it.

(I would love to have video of a run like that)

Raoul, too bad theres no alcohol aloud at the track. If I had a few in me (and was willing to pass up the chance to run my truck[NOT]) I would try the Sears out. You would have to do some sort of modification to help balance it.

You people are killing me! I should have went with the 5.4!
My best so far: 15.060@90. My truck is easily capable of mid to high 14's. I'm not sure if I am yet though.
I'd say mid 15's is real good!

JMC, I have the 3.55ls. I thought of upgrading the rear gears but this is not a dedicated strip truck, yet.
I think that my poor times are a result of poor 60' times and poor take offs. I'm also not sure at what rpm I should be launching. I'm a bit concerned about wheel spin. If the tires break loose it's hard to get a smooth second gear. I don't know if you have that problem.
One of my biggest problems is I'm way too tense at the strip. I need to learn how to relax and think only about the series of events that will bring me from the beginning to the end of the quarter in the shortest amount of time.

Wittom,

I would launch somewhere around 2000-2500 rpm. My truck doesn't have the power of the blower and it weighs 5200 lbs. When you get wheel spin let up on the gas and then reaccelerate If you are taking off and you have a little wheel spin that should be ok, but it means you are making too much power and that is overpowering the tires. Fatter tires, taller tires or less rpm at the launch. Practice is the only cure. +
Lower gears will not do anything if you are breaking loose the tires with a 3.55. It will make the problem worse.

Regards

Thumbs up F150 performance numbers....

Hi all...love the site and all the info...just became a member...I have had my truck for 19 months...2000 F150 supercab flareside 4x4 off road package 5.4L 3.55 gears...very heavy truck!!! 5600lbs and change with me in it and about 1/8 tank of gas. took it to e-town in nj in april, only mods are flowmaster cat-back and k&n filter. Consistent 15.90's @84 and change mph...I'm pretty happy considering the weight. Next mods will be gears and a shift kit. 4.10's most likely, and we'll see what happens.....
