Post why does battery icon come on?

when entering interstate, as i punch it (WOT); at about 4,000rpm, the battery icon comes on to indicate a problem. battery only 2 months old, serpentine belt repl'd about 3 months ago--no apparent electrical problems. voltmeter stays at about 14 volts. only things left are the alternator and regulator--but again, no evident problem?

How tight is the belt around the pulleys? Maybe the belt is slipping on the pulley because of a weak belt tensioner. Check this out.
