Are the F-150's going to change in '02?
I have been thinking about buying another F-150 and I was wondering if anyone knew what (if any) changes were being made to the F-150 in 2002? Also, is it true that the F-150's will get a re-design in '03?
Thanks,
Chris

I heard the big changes were going to be in '03 as well. 24V 5.4L, 300+HP and brand new from top to bottom, sheetmetal looking like the SD's we have today. I think the '02 will remain similar to our existing trucks.

FordMX,
Big engine redesigning in 2003. A new 3valve 5.4 that rings out like 300-325 hp. A New 4v for the Navigators and Blackwoods, and some redesigning of the 4.2 liter to pump out 210 horses. Probably some other crap too, I wasn't interested b/c I just bought a new one.

Thanks guys,
I will probably wait until '03 then, because I already got mad when the '99's came out and made my '98 look old, but that was only a grille and bumper change. I fixed that though, as you can see in my signature.
Also, I'm REALLY glad to hear Ford is coming out with an engine with some SERIOUS horsies! I'm getting sick and tired of Shovie owners ragging on me because their trucks are "faster and have more horsepower" I know that our trucks have more torque and our HP is available at a much more accessible RPM, but I'm not going to open that can of worms...
Thanks again,
Chris

The 5.4L is faster than 5.3L in my experience and others will tell you the same. I still believe the 5.4L is the best engine in its class 150-1500 class. When shovies are dynoed they usually don't produce near the numbers they say? Im not trying to open any worms either but this is a Ford Site. Just imagine when we get that 5.4L 3v that is going to be a real beast. Also for 03'or 04' there will be the 4.5L navistar diesal v6. It will have 230hp and 400lbs feet of torque.
